Projects at JMH Living Design range from graphic and site specific, through to large scale urban interventions. The studio brings an architectual focus, in both theory and practice, to all of our projects. JMH Living Design's buildings draw their energy from the vital, organic nature of cohabitation in a city. Individual projects take shape as threads; integral to the complex weave of urban fabric they simultaneously create and inhabit.
Our design process is driven by the symbiotic co-evolution of pragmatic and creative forces. Each project begins with consideration of both the essential and the potential. The essential is constituted by the clients brief, technical requirements, program and statutory codes directing performance. Beyond the essential lies the potential, the infinite design possibilities inherent in the specific site and its physical and cultural surroundings. JMH Living Design feel a design proposition gains strength and authenticity through its sensitivity to place, both physical and spiritual. All theoretic propositions of the studio are underpinned by place occupation and place making through consideration of climatic, social, cultural and environmental factors.
We are committed to economically, socially and ecologically sustainable design practices and outcomes. We actively seek to collaborate, building up networks which incorporate specific areas of expertise appropriate to each given project. We embrace evolution, collaboration and change. Through writings, hand sketches, collage, photography, cad drawings, modelling and computer visualisation, the JMH Living Design studio map the course of a project from its conceptual genesis to its ultimate conclusion.
